I remember how it felt to look for a photographer for our wedding like it was yesterday

I knew from the beginning that I wanted more than just someone to show up on our wedding, take some photos, and then leave. I wanted to feel supported throughout the process, to know that we were more than just another job on their calendar. I remember feeling nervous that we’d look either awkward in our photos, or that the photos wouldn’t really feel like us. I obviously wanted get great photos, but it was just as important that this person who was being invited to such an intimate moment in our lives would want to celebrate this day alongside us.

Little did I know that the experience of finding a wedding photographer for our own wedding would help lay the foundation for the kind of photographer I wanted to be.

Wedding photography for couples who come for these types of photos…

…but stay for these types of photos

It’s 2025. I promise I’m not going to ask you to “fake laugh” for your wedding photos.

Instead, I’ll use a combination of subtle direction, movement, and most importantly, a genuine interest about you as individuals + a couple. That paired with my 10 years of being a wedding photographer means that instead of photos that feel stiff, awkward and unnatural, you’ll end up with photos that not only capture how you looked, but how you felt.

And the best part: I bet you’ll have fun doing it.

Don’t believe me? Let me prove it to you!

  • We absolutely love Deanna! Neither myself or my husband like having out picture taken but Deanna somehow manages to get some of the most natural beautiful photos. Deanna made our rainy day wedding photos into something magical even bringing her own umbrellas to help us. She has been taking photos for our family over the last ten years and we will continue to rely on her to talent to capture life's precious moments.

    A&A

  • Deanna came as recommendation from our venue and I'm so glad that we went with her! She photographed both our engagement and wedding and was such a joy to work with on both occasions. She was always available to answer any questions I had throughout the planning process which I was very appreciative of. I love that her style is true to colour and that the photos are not highly edited after the fact. Thanks to her, we have the biggest day of our life captured beautifully for us to cherish forever.

    K&R

  • Deanna was our photographer for our wedding and it was the best decision we made! She is incredibly talented, professional, and is a super sweet person!! I am typically very anxious and indecisive. But from the first time we spoke with Deanna I was sold! She helps you to feel so comfortable and is there for you from the moment you meet. She truly makes you feel special the entire time! My bridesmaids and our guests have told us how much they enjoyed interacting with her as well. She brings such a good energy to your day & always has a smile. You can tell that she really enjoys what she is doing and it shows in her work.

    M&A

  • “You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day and spending our day being documented by Deanna was not only so easy but really a blast. Deanna has a way of making the time spent taking pictures to be a memorable and fun part of the day. ”

You got Q's? I've got A's 〰️

  • YES! I feel you (especially because between you and me, I’m the same way). Almost *everyone* I’ve worked with has shared this with me. What I’ve found is that the most awkward part of getting your photo taken is that you’re never quite sure if you’re “doing it right” - where you’re supposed to be looking, if you’re standing the right way or what to do with your freaking arms. But don’t worry - this is where I come in. I’ll help set you up in a pose so you know EXACTLY what to do, but I don’t stop there. I’ll ask you questions, get you talking to your partner, maybe play a little game or two so that eventually, you forget the camera is even there. That’s where the magic happens.

  • The sooner, the better! Because Calgary has a limited "wedding season,” I am often booking weddings between May – September more than a year in advance. So as soon as you finalize a date for your wedding, I strongly recommend reaching out to your favourite photographers and other vendors as soon as possible!

  • Whether you’re planning an intimate backyard ceremony with your parents or a full-day party with 150 of your friends and family, I would love to hear what you’re envisioning for your day so I can recommend a package that gives you exactly what you’re looking for and skips what you aren’t! Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to chat through the different options and find one that will work for you!

  • I strongly believe that engagement sessions are a vital step to getting great photos on your wedding day. In fact, I feel so strongly about it I even wrote a blog post outlining 3 reasons you shouldn’t skip the engagement session with the most important reason being that your wedding photos will feel that much more like you. I use your engagement session to take note of how you and your partner interact with one another. Do you like to joke around with one another? Are you a little more reserved and serious? Getting this chance to get to know both of you allows me to adjust and tailor the types of portraits we’re getting on your wedding day, so you can get photos that feel like you.

Because it’s so important to me that you walk away from your wedding knowing you’re going to get photos that you LOVE, I’ve made engagement sessions complimentary to every wedding package.

  • You will get your wedding photos delivered to you in a password-protected online gallery 6 weeks after your wedding date. Your online gallery allows you to share your photos with friends and family, download your photos as many times as you’d like, and will remain online for a full year after your wedding date.

  • Heck yes I do! I have photographed weddings in Canmore, Kananaskis, Banff, Salmon Arm, Burnaby, Salt Spring Island, Saskatoon, and more. I’m always down to travel somewhere new!

  • Absolutely! While I can’t call myself a wedding planner, I have learned a LOT in the past 10 years as a wedding photographer. If you book a wedding with me, you’ll receive my printed wedding guide where I break down the different parts of your wedding day, how to create the perfect timeline, some things to consider to get the most out of your photos, and some tips that I’ve learned over the years. I also provide answers to the most common questions I get asked when it comes to planning and the photography on your wedding day.
