North Glenmore Park Wedding: Katie & Geoff
It was the most perfect of days. Despite the snow that had fallen the previous day, the sun shone beautifully on August 22, 2015 for Katie & Geoff's North Glenmore Park wedding. Their day was filled with love as they were surrounded by their closest friends and family. I've already raved about Katie & Geoff in their engagement session, but I'm obviously going to do it again. They are two of the most welcoming, kind-hearted people I have ever met. They are all about community and the people they surround themselves with. At the beginning of the ceremony, they did something I had never seen before but absolutely LOVED: they had their guests turn to someone they didn't know and introduce themselves. It was heartwarming to see two families come together and share in the excitement for Katie & Geoff. The ceremony that followed reflected Katie and Geoff's personality to a tee. Whether it was the vows they had written themselves, the poems that were read, and their first kiss as husband and wife, going through the images from their day still makes me smile.
Another part of the day that I loved was that, following their ceremony, Katie and Geoff took their bridal party out for beers at the Wildrose Brewery after their pictures were done. It was fun to see everyone just relax and take time out of the day to simply celebrate together (the back of the Brewery also made for some pretty great photos as well).
Katie and Geoff took every opportunity to involve their friends and family in their wedding: the ceremony was performed by a close friend; Katie's STUNNING bouquet and florals were made by friends and family; their invitations were designed by Katie's sister; Katie's mother played a huge role in bringing Katie's "DIY Anthropologie" vision to life for their reception at Festival Hall (I'm pretty sure I overheard that she hand-painted every wine glass with gold rims... What!!); they had friends play music and read poems; and my all-time favourite part was when Geoff's mom brought out Geoff's school assignments from when he was younger and shared some of the wisdom of Geoff's younger self.
All in all, I'd say it was a pretty perfect day.
Katie and Geoff... thank you. Thank you for allowing me into your lives to document you and your love. I was absolutely honoured to be part of your day, and I hope these images will remind you of how perfect your wedding was. I wish you both nothing but love, happiness, and an exciting journey together as husband and wife.
I love love LOVE when couples opt to do a first look. We found a secluded little area in the river valley that made for some amazing photos.
Katie let her bridesmaid pick their own dresses - I've never seen such perfectly mismatched dresses work together so well!
Their ceremony was held in at one of the tucked away picnic sites in North Glenmore park
How cute is it that Katie's dad is holding her dress for her??
Because why wouldn't you slack line when you're in a beautiful wedding dress?
Thank you to the Wildrose Brewery for allowing us to come and hang out!
You can probably imagine the types of jokes that were going on during this time...
