Bearspaw Lion’s Club Wedding: Maddy + Mitch

There was so much to celebrate at Maddy + Mitch’s wedding day at the Bearspaw Lion’s Club: the closing of the “long-distance” chapter of their relationship, their commitment to stand by one another for forever, and having all their friends + family from across Canada in one room. But there was a touch of sadness too as their day also served as a goodbye to those friends and family as they would soon be embarking on a 2 year adventure to the NWT. The love these two have for each other + their people (and that their people have for them) was palpable, and it took all that I had not to tear up listening to the private vows they shared or the toasts shared throughout the evening.

Some of my favourite parts of their day included their first look (which took place at Maddy’s family’s property - so beautiful!), the passing around of their rings during their ceremony for their families to bless, and the drinking game / spelling bee hosted by Mitch’s sisters during their reception (a nod to Maddy’s job as a teacher!). Oh and I can’t forget their ice cream cart provided by Made by Marcus - ice cream is ALWAYS a good idea!
