Salmon Arm Wedding - Amy & Russell

I could not have asked for a better day, a more scenic location or a more beautiful couple for my first wedding of the season.

Amy and Russell are the kindest people you'll ever meet - from our first meeting to their wedding day, they were nothing but sweet, thoughtful and down to earth. While they put so much time and effort into their wedding (which made for a beautiful day) they knew the most important thing was that they were about to commit to spending the rest of their lives together.

And so, surrounded by friends and family, Amy & Russell were married at Russell's parents' cabin out in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Even though it had rained all morning long, it managed to stop only hours before their ceremony. And as Amy walked down the aisle to join her future husband, the sun even managed to show up and find it’s way onto the dock where they stood.

After portraits (where the rain made an appearance only when we were driving to our second portrait location), the party concluded at the Sunnybrae Hall, where they ate great food, drank beer brewed by the bride and groom themselves, and danced to live music from The Sweets.

Amy & Russell, I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to be part of your special day. Your day was beyond perfect and I wish you both all the love and happiness that the world has to offer.

I especially loved how much their incorporated their faith into their day. Russell was baptized just before the ceremony (with Amy watching from a safe distance).

I love weddings where the couple infuse their personality and details into every aspect of their day. For example, Amy wore her mother’s dress, which looked absolutely stunning on her...

... and her shoes were gifted to her by her thoughtful and sweet husband-to-be

And then they had requested to pray together before the ceremony - blindfolded and all (as to not break tradition).
