Crestmont Community Hall Wedding - Amy & Jon
He always said he would never get married... Until he met Amy. They met through mutual friends in church, but their real connection happened one night in Cochrane. Amy and her friend invited Jon and his buddies out for drinks in Cochrane, even though Jon was at his company's Christmas party in Calgary. And so despite "closing the christmas party down" Jon made the drive out to Cochrane late at night, eager to see this girl he had known for so long. It was that moment that he knew that maybe he liked Amy a lot more than he thought. Despite the spark that occurred that night, they took the next year to develop their friendship while also developing themselves as individuals. About a year and a half later, Jon made it official by asking Amy out to dinner, and from that moment they never looked back. Their friends and family sighed in relief, the word "finally" coming to mind.
As I sat during their pre-wedding meeting and listened to them talk about one another, I knew that these two were in it for the long haul. I had them recount their love story, and as they did, they hardly even looked at me as they reminisced about their first date, their first kiss, and what they loved about each other. As I mentioned, Jon never thought he would get married. He grew up thinking that he was going to change the world, and didn't want anybody to take him away from that. But after meeting Amy, he realized he wanted none of it if she wasn't by his side.
And so, on the first day of August, surrounded by friends and family, Amy & Jon read aloud their vows and committed to spending the rest of their lives together. A brunch reception followed, which included the most delicious build-your-own waffle bar. We then took off with the bridal party just down the road from Crestmont Hall and took bridal party photos. Afterwards, we went to finish our session in a secluded area down in Valley Ridge. Despite the hot weather and bright sun, these two were absolute troopers.
It was a day filled with love, joy and happy tears (most of them coming from behind my camera). Amy & Jon, your day was absolutely perfect. It has been my absolute pleasure getting to know you two and your story. I cannot wait to see where you two head on your journey together as husband and wife. Thank you for giving me the honour of documenting your love.
